To tell the story of Italian fashion to an international audience, beyond a simple fashion show or a sequence of images, WAY created “Italy is Fashion” for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

An immersive Virtual Reality experience designed to promote the excellence of Made in Italy around the world through a poetic journey across art, history, nature, sustainability, innovation and higher education, where fashion comes to life as a profound expression of the country’s culture and identity.

Objective

Strengthen the international promotion of Italian fashion through immersive content capable of communicating the distinctive values of Made in Italy: excellence, creativity, craftsmanship, sustainability, training and the capacity to innovate. The project was created to be shown in international settings and to offer a scalable experiential language, easily usable in events, diplomatic offices and cultural initiatives around the world.

Strategy

WAY designed an immersive VR experience that portrays Italian fashion not as a simple product, but as the result of cultural stratification: art, cities, landscapes, manufacturing, history, schools and innovation.

The journey guides viewers through four symbolic settings: Florence and Tuscany, between art and creativity; Rome and Venice, between history and international allure; the Italian countryside, between nature and sustainability; and Milan, between innovation and education. The finale returns to the opening small square, celebrating the country where fashion comes to life.

A story of values: It brings together art, history, sustainability, innovation and education, showing fashion as culture and regional identity.
Scalable format: Designed for global use in Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and institutional events.

Showcasing the supply chain: It celebrates the entire fashion ecosystem, from outstanding craftsmanship to research and technological innovation.
