Michelangelo's David. Live the Creation: experiencing the masterpiece in virtual reality in Florence

Standing before Michelangelo's David and watching every detail come to life, as if the marble were taking shape before your eyes. That is the promise of Michelangelo's David. Live the Creation, the new virtual reality experience by Slow Tour Tuscany and WAY Experience, presented on 5 November 2025 at the Libreria Giunti Odeon in Florence.

The experience is the second chapter of The Masters of Renaissance project, after the one dedicated to Brunelleschi's Dome: a journey that combines historical and artistic research with cutting-edge technology to tell the story of the Renaissance masterpieces in the language of the present.

"We combine in-depth historical and artistic research with the most advanced technology," explains Marco Pizzoni, CEO of WAY Experience. For Annalisa Menconi, CEO of Slow Tour Tuscany, the initiative strengthens a commitment to quality tourism, able to enhance the local area with tools that speak the language of today.

Practical information

The experience lasts about 8 minutes and takes place at Via degli Alfani 115 rosso, in Florence, every day from 10 am to 4 pm (Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm). Tickets cost 9 euros, or 15 euros combined with the Brunelleschi's Dome experience. It is suitable from age 8, is not recommended for those who suffer from epilepsy, and is available in eight languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. The rights to the work are granted by the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence.
