You Are Verdi

Connecting the history of opera to the city's urban evolution, moving beyond passive content consumption. The project aims to let visitors see and experience Verdi's historic places in an immersive way, restoring memory and visibility to spaces and events from the composer's life that today appear transformed or have vanished entirely from the urban fabric.

A 90-minute outdoor itinerary through Verdi's landmark locations, punctuated by virtual reality (VR) stations. The audience moves through the urban space and experiences a journey through time: the sight of today's city blends with the sound and vision of Verdi's masterpieces performed by the THAIS Orchestra and the Corale Lirica Ambrosiana choir.

Seeing and experiencing historic space: the integration of virtual reality (VR) allows access to digital reconstructions of period settings that no longer exist, placing the user directly within the real places once frequented by Verdi.
Physicality and acoustic immersion: walking between the Verdi stops, combined with professional orchestral and choral recordings, turns the city into a dynamic stage that showcases the opera in its original context.
Advanced cultural mediation: a flexible model that offers a deep insight into Milanese identity, allowing both residents and international tourists to experience the city through the composer's eyes.
