You Are Darwin is a scientific journey that uses Virtual Reality (VR) to tell the story of the birth of the Theory of Evolution through highly impactful immersive stages. The project offers an overarching vision linking Charles Darwin’s observations to the foundations of modern biology, weaving together history and science into a single narrative. The story moves through the key moments of the voyage aboard the Beagle: from the dense forests of the Amazon to the Argentine pampas, all the way to landfall in the Galápagos archipelago, taking a close look at the mechanisms of adaptation and natural selection.
Conveying the complexity of biological theories beyond the limits of traditional non-fiction and teaching methods. The project aims to make abstract scientific concepts visible and tangible, translating Darwin's historic observations into immediate visual models and carefully recreated natural settings.
A 75-minute indoor tour structured into immersive Virtual Reality stages. The use of headsets makes it possible to travel virtually aboard the Beagle, taking audiences on a journey of discovery through distant ecosystems and historical moments fundamental to understanding life on Earth.
Visualising complex ecosystems: Immersive technology brings remote environments and species found nowhere else in the world into view, making the mechanisms of evolutionary adaptation immediately easier to understand.
Rigour and accessibility: The combination of documentary rigour and modern digital formats turns science into a dynamic tool, able to engage school groups and general audiences alike.
Enhancing museum spaces: A flexible model designed for integration into indoor exhibition settings, capable of enriching the cultural offering with a high-impact multisensory experience.
